ALC889a 'Analog headphone' mute both line out and headphone

Reported by: coolix Owned by: lennart
Milestone: Component: module-alsa-*
Keywords: alc889a Cc:

Description

Selecting "Analog headphone" in pavucontrol mutes both the headphone (front panel) and line out (back panel) on a Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R (ALC889a chip/snd_hda_intel). With "Analog output", headphones AND speaker are playing sound, jack sensing does not work.

It worth mentioning that, using alsa directly, i could mute the speakers manually in the mixer and still hear sound in speakers but never the other way around.

I can provide any further you need to fix this.

Software versions:

pulseaudio-0.9.19 alsa-1.0.21

Sounds like a mislabelling of the low-level ALSA mixer controls. If enabling the "Headphone" control actually disables it then the name must be wrong. Please file a bug against your driver describe exactly how the low-level mixer controls don't do what their name suggests and include the output of alsa-info.sh --no-upload there.

Thanks.
