Regression from 2.6.29.5 to 2.6.30.4

Reported by: potuz Owned by: lennart
Milestone: Component: daemon

Description

Running Pulseaudio 0.9.15 on a CLFS system 2.6.29.5-090720 #1 SMP PREEMPT x86_64 GNU/Linux

have no problems with Skype (default-fragments=8, default-fragment-size-msec=5)

Upgrading to 2.6.30.4 Skype emits Crakling sounds to the point of being pure noise, and eventually one has to kill pulseaudio's server.

Seems to be a pulseaudio issue since playing sounds directly through alsa (1.20.0 version of library and 1.19.0 utils) doesn't show any problems.

I am sorry, but Skype is closed source software, so we cannot really fix it to work with PA.

I am sorry, but I will now close this bug, since I see no way how we could fix this wihtout Skype becoming Open Source.
