error when starting Kmix sound mixer

Reported by: bengbers Owned by: lennart

Description

Initially, after a clean installation of Fedora 10 on my Toshiba laptop, pulseaudio was working but after a few (kernel) updates, I got into problems since there was no sound any more.

I can't recall what I have done but after playing with the system-settings, at least I now hear some sound from the front-speakers. What amazes me is that the earplugs give much more volume?!

I tried to start the KMix sound mixer but /var/log/messages shows this error: pulseaudio[13908]: module-alsa-sink.c: ALSA woke us up to write new data to the device, but there was actually nothing to write! Most likely this is an ALSA driver bug. Please report this issue to the PulseAudio developers.

Do you know how to fix my pulseaudio?

Ben

ALSA woke us up to write new data to the device, but there was actually nothing to write! Most likely this is an ALSA driver bug. Please report this issue to the PulseAudio developers.

That is an ALSA bug and has already been brought to the attention of the ALSA devs.
