pulseaudio server uses 30% CPU when Flash content has been played.

Reported by: TiCPU Owned by: lennart
Milestone: Component: daemon
Keywords: Cc:

Description

The pulseaudio server will lie there consumming 30% CPU all the time until terminated, even after the Flash content ends playing/Firefox is closed. Furthermore, when in this state, Flash videos won't play anymore (play 3 seconds then freeze until I seek).

This is more than likely a bug in flash. If you are using flash 10 or higher, try removing libflashsupport and see if you don't get such lockups as in v10 their alsa implementation is less crap.

That makes sense in a way, I removed libflashsupport and indeed, I don't get PulseAudio frozen at 30% CPU, but on the other hand, I don't think it's normal to be able to make the PulseAudio crash.

Same here. It seems like a bug in alsa wrapper.
