If you are logging to syslog it should take care of that limiting for you....

Our broken fedora syslog is so broken it apparently doesn't do that. Because it is easier for me to update pa than this crazy rsyslog thing we have I am planning to add this to PA, although it should be fixed in rsyslog.

Just out of curiosity: which syslog implementation does mandrake use?

To behonest I don't know... I'm using sysklogd but we apparently ship rsyslog and syslog-ng too.. Not reallly looked into it!
