This bug report is not very helpful. Which distro is this?

Is this patch applied?

2. Probably not - unless it is in default distribution

Uh, a simple "Gentoo" would have been sufficient...

Please consider applying the aforementioned patch. In fact, if Gentoo includes PA 0.9.13 then it should also apply the 22 patches our fedora rawhide patches come with.

Changed 3 years ago by uzytkownik

If those patches are so important why you haven't relased 0.9.13.1 or 0.9.14?

PS. In gentoo last 'stable' is 0.9.9 and 'testing' is 0.9.13.

Changed 3 years ago by lennart

Doing releases is an immense amount of work. And that's why I don't do them every second day.

Also, I regularly announce to packagers which patches to apply on #pulsaudio in irc.

Changed 3 years ago by uzytkownik

Why they are not published next to the release information? Where are the patches?

PS. I understend but still I fell that the 0.9.13.1 should be release as 0.9.13 + critical patches. You know - not everybody is a packager (some people compile from source for various reasons) and even those do not spend 24h/day on irc...

we have packagers for a reason: to not require everyone to follow upstream. I am sorry if this means that things are more difficult than necessary for people who like to compile their stuff on their own. But please understand my perspective: I lose a lot of time doing maintainership of PA, and I am interested to keep this low.

So this should be resolved in 0.9.14?

Ubuntu 8.10 has the same bug, but is currently using 0.9.10 See here http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/288093

  • summary changed from Pulseaudio 'crashes' to Pulseaudio freezes after a while playing.
  • milestone set to 0.9.14

Yes, should be fixed in 0.9.14. Closing.
