object 'libpulsedsp.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded

Reported by: mslemko Owned by: lennart
Milestone: Component: daemon
Keywords: Cc:

Description

On Fedora 8, 64 bit, the ALSA/pulseaudio sound initialization crashes when loading some games under wine.

I find that this error occurs when sound is required from a 32 bit application using ALSA or attempts to use pulseaudio dsp (32 bit) since there isn't any corresponding 32 bit library on a 64 bit install. i.e. libpulsedsp.so doesn't exist /usr/lib/

The error message ERROR: ld.so: object 'libpulsedsp.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.

This is a fedora packaging issue, not a pulse issue per-se.

Lennart does both, but it's more appropriate that you report this in the Fedora/RH bugzilla.

FWIW, I "solved" this same issue in mandriva packages by just putting libpulsedsp.so into the lib[64]pulseaudio0 package...

Could you please describe the steps that a regular user would have to take to workaround this?

Thanks.

This is a fedora issue, not a PA upstream issue. It has been reported in rhbz already, I am thus closing this report now.
