Amarok hangs for a LONG time when hitting Pause

Reported by: Rudd-O Owned by: lennart
Milestone: Component: 3rdparty
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Using Amarok and the Pulse output plugin of its xine-output-engine, hitting pause causes a 15-second or longer freeze of the app, followed by the familiar Paused OSD message that Amarok pops up. VERy annoying.

Happens both with the local RTP sink and a remote PA server.

Hang is not (at least seems not to be) time-correlated to bug http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/144

I can confirm this is behavior as well.

Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10), running both Amarok 1.4.7 in the distro and 1.4.8 from backports.

I have also filed this with bugs.kde.org: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154874

The current PA driver has been heavily reworked, and is now race-free. I assume your bug is fixed now too. If it is not, feel free to reopen.
